POPULATION
Hudson's
population has steadily grown through the years and St. Croix county is
the fastest growing county in the state. Estimated population, as of
July 2006 was 11,913 and the population of St.
Croix County was 77,144.
TRANSPORTATION
State Highway 35 and I-94 intersect at Hudson.
Several trucking firms offer daily service to the community. Regularly scheduled air passenger service is available at the
Twin Cities International Airport. Local air service is available
at several small air fields in the area, which include
Lake Elmo Airport and
Holman Field. Rail service is provided by the Chicago & Northwestern.
UTILITIES
St. Croix Electric provides the Township
of Hudson with electricity. Hudson is serviced by
AT&T for phone service.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
MEDICAL FACILITIES
Hudson features a brand new medical facility,
which opened in spring of 2003. The
Hudson Hospital features in-patient and out-patient care,
obstetrics, rehabilitation services, 24-hour emergency care plus more.
They are a member of the Regional
Trauma Advisory Council, designing a trauma care system for our geographic
region and state of Wisconsin.
COMMUNITY FEATURES
Several radio and television stations from the Twin Cities metro area serve the community. Hudson has a local weekly newspaper and several regional papers
that are delivered daily.
The Phipps Center serves the community as the focal point for art, theatre and other cultural activities. Hudson is the home for the St. Croix County Historical Society and Octagon House Museum.
